Heart and Mind Breathing Practices

3 Steps to Heart/Mind Breathing Practices

Focus/Breathing/Feeling

BEGIN by Closing your Eyes

  1. Bring your awareness from the world outside/around you, to the internal world inside you
  2. Touch your heart and allow your Focus/awareness to go to your heart space breathing slower than you would typically breathe.
  3. Breathe in slowly to the count of 4, hand on your heart, focus breathing from your heart (hold for a moment) then...
  4. Slowly release your breath to the count of 6, feeling the shift in your body
  5. Repeat this several times allowing your body to settle into a rhythm
  6. Continue breathing at this pace, exhaling a little bit longer than you inhale, while your focus is on your heart, breathing as if you’re breathing from your heart
  7. Feel any feeling you would like to focus on while breathing this rhythm. Peaceful gratitude, joy, happiness etc.
  8. Take a few minutes in silence and focus on breathing & feeling....

Ancient Indigenous Wisdom

        • When we focus on our heart center, touching our heart area with our hand or fingers ... Our Awareness will always go the place on our body that feels the sensation of touch.
        • Our primary intelligence is in our hearts, not our intellectual mind.
        • When we breathe slower than we would typically breathe, it is an emotional trigger that tells our body we are safe because it releases healing chemistry instead of fight or flight stress chemistry.
        • When we exhale, longer than the inhale, it ‘triggers’ the parasympathetic nervous system to Relax.  This is the calming aspect of the central nervous system.
        • When we ask our brain a question under stress, the brain will get stuck in a logical ego loop of conditioning, which blocks our answers and access to higher information.  This is because the ego is a pattern of survival strategies, misinformed through a lens of control patterns.
        • When we ask a calm heart, it is free from the false mental egoic loops, habits and patterns, allowing the heart to access answers from the infinite collective consciousness for our highest good.  This is intuition which often offers answers before the question is asked or pondered, sometimes viewed as premonitions.
        • Humans are the only form of life that can feel on demand.  We can feel any feeling we choose to feel, for anything or anyone, instantly.
        • Humans are Creators, so whatever feeling we focus on, we create more of.

Remember to Breathe often throughout the day for even 5 minutes at a time, using the 4 breaths in/6 out release, touching your heart while feeling gratitude, peace and joy.  Why?  Because your breathe, is one simplest doorways back to your inner sanctuary of Amakua, which translates from Hawaiian too: Source/Creator/God/Krishna/Buddah etc. or whatever you identify with as divine intelligence.
